Ana Hidalgo.
A graduated of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM), Ana started her career in 1993. From the design stage through the construction stage, Ana has a very strong background in Architecture.
Founder of Pausa Arquitectos, an exclusive architectural group for Sotorgaz in Madrid. She was in charge of “design and build” projects for the Spanish building developers Sotorgaz and Necsohenar for 10 years.
In 2003 she created her own firm, Hcarquitectos, committed to small-scale environmental architecture and urban design with the use of sustainable techniques. hcarquitectos designed and developed residential buildings, as well as offices, restaurants and commercial spaces.
In 2007 Ana moved to Hong Kong, and she started working in collaboration with the Banús Architecture Studio.
In November 2011, Ana organized the ICOA, SPAIN – HONG KONG, WATER & CULTURE. Her interest in Spain's and Hong Kong’s architectural scene led her to organize from scratch the first event that investigated architectural relationships between these two countries.
She moved to Istanbul at the end of 2011 where she collaborated with RTA–DOME architects in Istanbul and undertook several personal projects as a freelance.
With Politecnico di Milano she organized THINKING THE EDGE – WATER & CULTURE, a series of architecture International Conferences that took place in Istanbul during July 2013.
With DOME Partners she organized the Takenaka Corporation´s Seminar at YEM during October 23rd 2013 in Istanbul and in Ankara during October 25th 2013.
While in Istanbul, Ana worked in the Tabanlioglu office as part of the team for the organization of the Turkish Pavillion in the Venice Biennale 2014 where Murat Tabanlioglu was the organizer.
At the moment, Ana lives and works in Madrid, focusing on large scale collaborations as well as in housing transformations at her Studio ‘Espacio entre Espacios’.
